February 2010 At this time of the year we remember the great accomplishments of Martin Luther King and two of our visionary Presidents, George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. On Tuesday, February 9th, you will have the opportunity to hear from industry leaders of Supplier Diversity. At our next dinner meeting we will learn the best practices in supplier diversity from Credit Suisse, General Electric and JPMorgan Chase. If you have attended previous dinner meetings organized by our Supplier Diversity Committee, you know that this will be an impressive and exciting program. We even have door prizes and raffles. I am confident that whatever your level of experience, you will leave with some helpful information to apply in your workplace. Please note on your calendars our upcoming ISM-New York Conference, which will be held at the New York Hilton on Friday March 26th. We always have the winner of the Purchasing Magazine Medal of Excellence and Tyco International will present "Linking Organizations and Creating Synergy: Accelerating Bottom Line Benefits". The other program speakers from McKinsey & Company, American Express, Raytheon and the New York City Housing Authority will address relevant supply management issues that you face today. You have an added benefit of speaking with a group of supplier exhibitors who will have displays of their products and services in place throughout the day. We know companies have curtailed their expenditures for events such as this and we have responded with attractive conference fee options. Get there early on February 9th. If you ever have a comment or question, feel free to send me an e-mail. Joseph Robertson, C.P.M. |
