The Davis-Kassa Scholarship is named in honor of former Executive Directors of ISM-New York who served with distinction. Robert Davis served from 1957 to 1978 and Abate Kassa, assisted by his wife Waka, served from 1981 to 2000. All three of these individuals are also past recipients of the prestigious ISM-New York J.H. Leonard award for meritorious service.

The goal of this scholarship is to offer financial assistance to children of ISM-New York members who are pursuing an academic degree granted by an accredited college or university.

Amount:
Free one-year membership in ISM-New York and cash award to one recipient in the amount of $4,000.

For:
General expenses incurred while pursuing an academic degree granted by an accredited college or university. This award is merit-based and requires no work obligation.

Eligibility:
Full time student who has achieved 24 credits on the undergraduate or graduate level at an accredited college or university, is pursuing any accredited degree and whose parent or guardian is a regular or associate member of ISM-New York.

Criteria for Award:
Parent or guardian of candidate must be a current member of ISM-New York in good standing and not a member of the ISM-New York Scholarship Committee or take part in the selection process of the recipient. The candidate must be in good academic standing, matriculated in an accredited college or university and must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.00. Candidate must demonstrate leadership ability on campus or in the community. Award recipient agrees to attend the May ISM-New York dinner meeting. Award checks are non-transferable.

Application Date:
Candidates must submit all application documents no later than the 1st day of March.

Method of Award:
The ISM-New York Scholarship Committee, which is headed by the Awards Chair, will review all applications and present its selections to the ISM-New York Board of Directors. The decision of the Board of Directors is final.

Notification:
The recipient of the Davis-Kassa Scholarship will be notified no later than the 1st day of May.

Award Announcement:
The recipient will be introduced at the May dinner meeting of ISM-New York.

Method of Payment:
A check will be presented to the recipient at the May dinner meeting.
